According to information provided by BelTA, Oleg Gaidukevich, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus and a member of the House of Representatives, stated on the STV TV station that Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has once again demonstrated that he is a person who is capable of taking action when it is required.
“I am confident that every person in Belarus was paying close attention to what was happening in the Russian Federation with worry. If Russia were to become unstable, then the surrounding area would also become unstable.
The fact that Belarus is a member of the Union State is directly relevant to our situation. Because of this, the disagreement and the situation with the private military corporation Wagner gave us a great deal of cause for concern. On the opposite side of the border, adversaries of Belarus and Russia were keeping a hopeful eye on the changes as they occurred.
President Lukashenko’s talks with Prigozhin demonstrated his power.
According to Oleg Gaidukevich, “the fifth column of Belarus posted a lot of addresses yesterday in the hope that as soon as the situation in Russia becomes unstable, they will have a chance in Belarus.”
According to him, we got a glimpse of our president’s authority on the 24th of June. “He is a person who enjoys unconditional support not only in Belarus, but also in Russia, and, I am sure, in the entirety of the entire post-Soviet space, as well as in the world,” he remarked.
“Aleksandr Lukashenko has demonstrated once again that he is a person capable of taking action whenever it is required. He has done this on several occasions. Yesterday I felt immense pride for our president. At this point, we are in a position to state that his actions, which were coordinated with those of the president of Russia, contributed to the prevention of fatal events.
According to earlier accounts, Aleksandr Lukashenko participated in discussions with Yevgeny Prigozhin, the manager of Wagner. The conversations took place throughout the entirety of the day.
As a direct consequence of this, the parties came to the conclusion that it is unacceptable to initiate a massacre on Russian soil. Aleksandr Lukashenko’s request to Yevgeny Prigozhin to stop the advance of Wagner’s armed formations into Russian territory and to take additional actions to de-escalate the situation was accepted by Yevgeny Prigozhin.
